<aside> 👩‍💻 If you are not familiar with programming in Python, or programming at all, make sure to start working through our programming resources asap. Programming is a skill and requires time to learn. Make sure to start early. For the programme you will require

  1. Being familiar with programming in Python
  2. Being familiar with the libraries NumPy, Matplotlib and Pandas
  3. Being familiar with Google Colab

The Learn Programming section contains resources for each level. If you are curious to learn what a computer and the Internet actually are, we recommend you start with Introduction to Computers, the Internet and AI.

<aside> <img src="/icons/mathematics_purple.svg" alt="/icons/mathematics_purple.svg" width="40px" /> AI and Machine Learning relies heavily on linear algebra and calculus. Make sure you have the required knowledge and skills down so you can take active part in the mathematical modelling of a Machine Learning problem during the Course Stage. For the programme you will require

  1. Being familiar with Calculus of functions with one variable
  2. Being familiar with Linear Algebra (the algebra of vectors and matrices)
  3. Being familiar with the basics of multivariable Calculus (partial derivatives and gradient)

The Maths for AI section contains resources for each, and for different levels. You are not required to work through every single course and book we have added, and you can use your own resources, too, of course. We are providing you with offers and guidance to help you. However, you need to make sure you have the required maths down and be able to show us before the programme starts.

<aside> 📖 If you want to start building your foundations with the help of these resources before the Preparation Stage you are very welcome to do so!

  1. In fact, if you are high schooler or on a gap year we strongly advise you to start working with these resources before the one-month long preparation stage. Otherwise, you’ll find it really hard! **
  2. We recommend you plan your work and track your progress while preparing for the programme. We will share a simple tracker template with you that you can use shortly. Should you be admitted to the Preparation Stage you can copy what you have done on the tracker that will be shared with you then! </aside>
